Pooled TETON trials show inhaled treprostinil slows FVC decline in IPF
Combined results from the TETON-1 and TETON-2 phase 3 trials in 1191 patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis found that inhaled treprostinil reduced the decline in forced vital capacity at 52 weeks compared with placebo (median change -45.4 mL vs -161.7 mL, between-group difference 111.8 mL, p<0.0001). The trials reported treprostinil was superior to placebo on five of six secondary endpoints, including time to clinical worsening, time to IPF exacerbation, quality of life (K-BILD), and percent predicted DLCO, with fewer deaths in the treprostinil group (6.9% vs 9.4%); cough was the most common adverse event.
