A systematic review and meta-analysis of seven randomized controlled trials (421 patients) evaluated fresh frozen plasma added to standard atropine/oxime therapy for acute organophosphate poisoning. The pooled analysis reported no statistically significant reduction in mortality, though it found a shorter hospital stay and reduced need for mechanical ventilation with FFP; the authors rated the certainty of evidence as low to very low. The authors concluded that current evidence is insufficient to support routine use of FFP and called for larger, higher-quality trials.
