Sequential Intraarterial-Intravenous PRRT Shows Promise for Liver NETs
A prospective trial in 10 patients with liver-dominant metastatic gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors tested a personalized schedule combining intraarterial and intravenous Lu-DOTATATE administration. The trial reported that intraarterial delivery was feasible in all patients, produced over 3-fold higher radiation dose and 86% greater median uptake in liver lesions compared with intravenous administration, and was generally well tolerated with one severe adverse event unrelated to the administration route. Partial response rates were 67% at 3 months and 87% at 6 months according to RECIST and volumetric criteria.
Most relevant for: Patients with progressive, nonresectable, liver-dominant metastatic gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors expressing somatostatin receptors.
